Traumatic Brain Injury
TBI Resources
Many of Go Rehab's passengers have sustained a mild to moderate Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). These life altering injuries affect every individual differently and the effects of TBI differ depending on the location and size of the trauma. Go Rehab works with rehabilitation professionals and families of our passengers to provide the most appropriate environment for each passenger, as no two cases are alike. This includes establishing specific routines, offering assistance, providing one or two steady drivers to a passenger on ongoing basis and in many cases giving increasing amount of control to the passenger on their road to independence. Our goal is to help our passengers achieve the goals set out for them by their rehabilitation professionals.
Go Rehab is committed to continually maintaining presence and stay on top of developments in the area of Acquired and Traumatic Brain Injury by attending conferences and workshops. Information acquired is used to engage Go Rehab drivers in active discussion to gain better understanding of TBI and tailoring our service to better meet the needs of our clients and passengers.
There are a number of organizations that have acquired/traumatic brain injury programs in communities around Ontario. There are also associations which can point you in the right direction in accessing services.
